Hey everyone, apologies for the lack of email last week. We finally wrapped our long-planned Lincoln Network Reboot Conference, and I can now get back in the swing of things. If you’re interested in learning more about the event, Politico’s Derek Robertson (a previous Realignment guest) wrote a great write-up. I plan on following up on Derek’s thoughts next week, especially the idea of “builder politics.”
I recorded today’s episode with Jai Malik and Lucas Bagno at Reboot. The video of the conversation and the rest of Reboot will be available next week.
In the meantime, here are some additional materials to supplement today’s episode with Jai and Lucas:
- Jai’s venture fund, Countdown, recently raised a second,15 million dollar fund. TechCrunch covered the raise here.
- Jai wrote a memorandum describing his objective of “Doubling down on the future of American industry.” You can find it here.
- Last but not least, I’m a huge fan of Solarpunk, Lucas Bagno’s podcast that he hosts with tech founder Ian Cinnamon.
The Reboot conversation and Tuesday’s episode with Rana Foroohar are part of a theme I’d like to spend more time on: the challenges and opportunities posed by a regionalizing/de-globalizing world. Next week, I’m recording with Nick Santhanam, one of the authors of The Titanium Economy: How Industrial Technology Can Create a Better, Faster, Stronger America.
