Hey everyone, short edition of the newsletter this week. In the name of full disclosure, Saagar’s coming up to NYC for meetings (about The Realignment, the promised cool things are coming) and he needs to bring his new kitten, Chip. Chip’s going to stay the weekend with Marshall and his girlfriend Olivia. Unfortunately, Marshall also has a new pet, Golda, which many of you may have seen in recent Realignment episode intros on YouTube. The result’s that the apartment’s trashed and needs to be cleaned before Chip’s arrival. TLDR, today’s newsletter length’s has to suffer.

Here’s Where We Need Your Feedback: Audience Participation

Marshall here. I’m going to sound like a broken record, but we really are using this month to figure out how we can best continue to take the show to the next level moving into 2021. One of those ways we can improve the show by increasing audience participation. Since our whole thing is providing a platform for us all to think about and understand the world better, we’re definitely failing on that count if we don’t surface your guys’s perspectives enough. There’s only so much devils advocacy and

So here’s the question that we’d like either as a question left via the “Leave a Comment” button below or emailed to realignmentpod@gmail.com: how should we bring the audience into the show?

• Bring back audience Q&A?

• Soliciting specific audience questions before we record an episode?

• Live recordings with guest + audience via a platform like Callin?

• Read audience feedback/commentary on air?

• More Q&A-only episodes? Note, unsurprisingly, these tend to significantly underperform a normal episode.

• Live audience recaps either via Zoom or Callin/Clubhouse?

• Etc…all suggestions are welcome!

As I was typing out different audience participation ideas, an obvious one that we can do now that our booking’s better planned out is explicitly ask for questions from you all before we record.
