Welcome Back to The Realignment
Hey everyone! Sorry that I’m sending this out a day late. I had to fill in for Krystal on Breaking Points at the last second, meaning the rest of the day was shot.
Next week, we’ll be back to our regularly-scheduled programming with the promised second part of our audience feedback plan.
Intro to the Metaverse and Web3
Yesterday’s episode with Kyla Scanlon marked the first time we’ve discussed Web3/the Metaverse, what many consider to be the next evolution of the internet. Unfortunately, discussions about both topics tend to be inaccessible, so as we delve deeper into the topic, the below resources are a great start!
Marshall’s other podcast, The Deep End, spends a lot of time covering Web3 and Metaverse issues. If you haven’t yet, check it out!
Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) with Cooper Turley (AKA Coopahtroopa)
The Next Crypto Cycle - web3, DAOs, and NFTs with Patrick Rivera
Citizens of the Metaverse with Gaby Goldberg and Shriya Nevatia

The Realignment Bookshop
As a reminder, we’ve created a Realignment Bookshop affiliate store showcasing books by guests, what we’re actively reading this year, and deeper dives into the featured topic of an episode.
If you purchase a book using our link, the show gets a 10% commission, a local, independent bookseller gets support, and you get an awesome book!
We’re reorganizing our book lists over the next few weeks, so for now, check out our primary one:

Mr. Kosloff. I'm listening to Episode 176 and I find myself flooded with questions. In what way could a DAO be used to interact with the Legislative Branch? Could a DAO replace the House of Representatives? The House of Delegates? Could it be a periphreal model for us to petition our delegate/representative to vote yay or nay for a given bill or a model for us to convene in Constitutional Conventation? How could a DAO be a part of the Legislative process? At the municipal, State, and Federal levels?
Thank you for doing the "The Metaverse, Inflation, Web3, Supply Chains, and More" with Kyla Scanlon and asking extremely basic definition questions. I have never heard such a great 1 hour crash course on these topics.
Lex Fridman had great episodes this week with Michael Mina, Steve Vicelli, and Francis Collins. I think Steve Vicelli would be a fantastic guest, trucking/labor/supply chain meets technology/automation and gov. regulation and funding. Plus he has a book called "The Big Rig: Trucking and the Decline of the American Dream"
