Welcome Back to The Realignment
We also open our emails with “welcome back to The Realignment,” but this time, we literally mean it. We took Tuesday off as we closed last season and the newsletter’s been on pause for the last few weeks.
Here’s the plan:
1) We’re going to change the format of audience Q&A this season. More info to come. So Tuesday’s episode will be the last big extended Q&A episode we do for the foreseeable future. Reply to this Substack or our realignmentpod@gmail.com email to get any questions in. We record in a little less than an hour.
2) We’ve still got everyone’s fiction and non-fiction book recommendations. That’ll come out next week with a special Bookshop link to purchase anything anyone’s interested in. If you haven’t yet, reply to this email or hit us up at realignmentpod@gmail.com with any last recommendations.
This Week’s Episode
Episode 151: Ret. General Dan Bolger: Why We Lost in Afghanistan and Iraq
Bookshop’s out of Dan’s book, Why We Lost: A General’s Inside Account of the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars, so we’re going to break our normal procedure and give you all an Amazon link.
The Realignment Bookshop
As a reminder, we’ve created a Realignment Bookshop affiliate store showcasing books by guests, what we’re actively reading this year and deeper dives into the featured topic of an episode.
Most importantly, you don’t need to go with our recommendations if you want to support the show. If you go to Bookshop.org through our link and then purchase *anything* we still get your support.
If you purchase a book using our link, the show gets a 10% commission, a local, independent bookseller gets support, and you get an awesome book!
Here are two lists we’ve built out:
1) Books by Realignment Guests
2) Books we’ve read/listened to in 2021
Let us know what you think about this or any other week’s episodes. Please share The Realignment with anyone who’d enjoy the podcast.
