The Return of In-Person Episodes
A long-promised part of upscaling the show is the return of in-person episode recordings.
One of next week’s episodes will be with Josh Steinman, who served on the National Security Council during the Trump administration. Here’s a link to his Twitter and below you’ll find his speech at the National Conservatism Conference.
Thanks to our Supercast subscribers for funding the in-person production of the show.

Marc Andreessen Book Recommendations
As we mentioned on the episode, Marc Andreessen featured The Realignment at the top of his recent podcast appearance list.
Marc Andreessen: What I’ve Been Up to Lately'
Mainly I try to learn a lot. For example, the political events of 2014-2016 made clear to me that I didn’t understand politics at all, so I deliberately withdrew from political engagement and fundraising and instead read my way back in history and as far to the political left and political right as I could. I’ll list some books I’ve found particularly interesting at the end.
I’ll cite the above as a useful framework that everyone should take during this political moment. Less the engagement and fundraising, and more the reading back through history.
Here are some personal selections from his book recommendations:
Lindbergh by Scott Berg
The Ambassador: Joseph P. Kennedy at the Court of St. James’s by Susan Ronald
Hitler: A Global Biography by Brendan Simms
Lenin by Victor Sebestyen
Days of Rage by Bryan Burrough
History Has Begun: The Birth of a New America by Bruno Macaes
War For Eternity by Benjamin Teitelbaum
The Managerial Revolution by James Burnham
Spain In Our Hearts by Adam Hochschild
A New World Begins by Jeremy Popkin

Marc's list is interesting I guess. One book he left out that I strongly suggest anyone interested in US politics w/ a historical perspective is Frank DiStefano's 'Realignment'. It's a fantastic book, and I discovered him thru your podcast.
It's an extremely well written look at how US politics has continuously renewed itself since the founding (when, to my surprise I learned that the founders didn't want to see political parties emerge) up to the current polarity.
